REFLECTIONS 2015 - Calling All Students - REFLECT on a THEME and CREATE an original work!!

Arts Education entails a wide array of disciplines including theater, media arts, literature, visual arts, dance and music.  It is an essential element of a complete and balanced education and plays a critical role in students' success in school and in life.  The PTSA is a strong supporter of Arts in Education as it not only develops the whole person, it nurtures ones creativity, builds teamwork, and it connects families and schools to one another and their community.  It is also proven to enhance students reading, language, math and social skills.

PTSA Reflections Program is a way to support arts in education and student learning by advocating arts in education.  The program has 6 categories in which students will reflect on the common theme "LET YOUR IMAGINATION FLY" and create original works of art in the categories of dance choreographyfilm productionliteraturemusic compositionphotography and visual arts.  Entries can be completed at home or in school, but most be the original work of one individual.  This year there is also an added special artist division, for students with disabilities whose physical, cognitive or mental health challenges meet ADA guidelines.

For more information, entry forms and rules for each category please visit our Reflections page.

All entries are due by October 30.  Students have the opportunity to win awards within the school, the region, the state and even nationally!

We hope to make this a strong program that will grow over the years with increased participation that will acknowledge the creativity of our students by having an annual Art Night which would exhibit students work and talent or any kind of event that will celebrate arts in education and support our student artists.  If you would like to be part of our Reflections Committee please EMAIL the PTSA or attend one of our monthly meetings.
